Making competition
more collaborative.

How can we celebrate a team's success without increasing the pressure of individual rankings?

Role: Product Designer — UX and UI design of the team leaderboard. Project developed with the product team.

01 — THE INSIGHT

When competition becomes discouraging.

Individual rankings motivated some players, but could put lower-ranked players under pressure. Meanwhile, Sparted clients already had teams and ambassadors: this collective dimension had little visibility in the app.

02 — THE DESIGN RESPONSE

Giving teams a place in the interface.

I designed the team leaderboard experience and interface to give collective performance greater prominence. The team leaderboard can be highlighted by default, while individual rankings can be displayed according to each client's needs.

I also worked on the final leaderboard presentation: podium, avatars and highlighted teams. The goal was to turn a list of scores into a moment of recognition.

03 — THE SIGNALS

Positive changes, interpreted with care.

The product review reported an increase in NPS after three months and participation after six months. These changes were observed following the introduction of the team leaderboard; they do not, on their own, isolate the effect of this feature.
